Thank You God for all the blessings.

"We may become like the angels themselves, helping others who are in need. In prayer and service our lights will always shine. Service is the oil to our lamps generated by compassion and love."
Embraced By The Light, p. 107

Four high schools in the Bismarck - Mandan area came together to raise awareness and money for Carrie’s Kids and the Families In Transition Program in Mandan.

They hosted a breakfast on June 1, 2008. It was fun to be there and share time with those hosting the event as well as guests. The meal was delicious.

But I think the one thing that really hits home for me is that these young high school students were willing to come together to make a difference. These are rival schools Bismarck High, Century High, St. Mary’s Central High and Mandan High. Think about it just for a minute.

When was the last time you heard the Raiders and the Broncos coming together to host a benefit to assist those in need? Or how about the Lakers and the Spurs or better yet what about the Raiders and the Lakers they both exist in California . . . . .

These young high school students spoke volumes and made huge impact through their willingness to plan and work together for the greater good. They were enthusiastic . . . .

I personally learned a lot from their energy and efforts . . . reflect on the following quote . . .

"We live and thrive by doing things, by testing our limits, by opening ourselves up to new experiences and challenges, by seeking joy and even happiness as we step out—not in fear or anxiety, but in faith. Faith opens us to new and sometimes wonderfully crazy ideas. Why? Because in faith, we believe that God—in his strength and good grace—will show us when we go too far, and that if we get hurt, he will help us to learn from the experience." The Ripple Effect, pp. 78-79

I stand in awe of these young people. What they have done is remarkable and memorable. If all of us, would step aside from our selfish pursuits and our pride and unite imagine the difference we could make. WOW.

Thank you so much Bismarck High, Century High, St. Mary’s Central High and Mandan High for thinking outside of the box, coming together and focusing on what you thought was important. Your time, effort and energy will have an impact in children’s lives for many months to come.

Children are remarkable for their intelligence and ardor, for their curiosity, their intolerance of shams, the clarity and ruthlessness of their vision.” Aldous Huxley quotes

In Matthew 18:3 Jesus encourages us to become like children . . . . so are you up to the challenge?
