Todd Becker was a molecular geneticist who worked at the Molecular Veterinary Genetics lab in Bozeman, Montana. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from Montana State University in 1996. He also earned a Masters Degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of North Dakota in 2000. While Todd was in graduate school, he taught an anatomy class at UND.

Todd passed away in February 2007, as a result of complications from two open heart surgeries. At that time Todd's daughter, Jessica, was 5 years old. She was the joy of his life. Todd enjoyed hunting, hiking, playing guitar, reading and riding his motorcycle. Todd was also an avid writer of poetry and music.

Todd's parents, Donna and Ron Becker, are retired Bismarck Public School educators, who believe strongly in Carrie's Kids. They know Todd would be honored that a scholarship fund has been established in his memory.

Jessica's Poem

No words are fit
In the many languages of love
My Precious gift from above
Daddy's dancing ballerina
Simple beauty without flaw
My dreams incarnate
I love you in awe ....Jessica
